About Millennium Park
Millennium Park is like a prized gem, glittering on the shores of Lake Michigan. There are numerous attractions in the park, but the most significant points of interest are the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the Harris Theater, the Cloud Gate sculpture, and the Crown Fountain. The brightest spot in sunny Millennium Park is the Pritzker Pavillion, an outdoor theater with the power of an indoor auditorium. Partially underneath the Pritzker Pavillion is the Harris Theater, an indoor, subterranean performing arts venue that acts as the pepper to the Pritzker’s salt. The park has two major art installations, namely the Cloud Gate and Crown Fountain. The Cloud Gate is made up of a giant, stainless-steel bean shape with a curvy omphalos underneath that distorts images like a funhouse mirror. Crown Fountain is made up of two monolithic structures that face each other, often playing recorded video of faces and spraying water out at precise times. If you want to see this artistic fountain, you’ll need a place to park, but finding a Millennium Park parking spot can be difficult in the busy Chicago Loop. If you use ParkWhiz, you can relax at Millennium Park without being left out in the cold.
