More about The Theater at MSG
New York City’s world-famous Madison Square Garden is known for hosting Knicks and Rangers games, boxing, and being above Pennsylvania Station, but it also has its own theatre in the form of The Theater at MSG. While it can be difficult to find a place to park in Midtown Manhattan as it is, you can save time by booking The Theater at MSG parking in advance of the show with ParkWhiz. The venue opened at the same time the fourth iteration of Madison Square Garden opened to the public in February 1968. First known as Felt Forum after businessman Irving Michael Felt, it was renamed to Paramount Theater in 1991 to reflect the then-current ownership of Paramount Communications, lasting until 1997. In that year, the theater was renamed The Theater at Madison Square Garden, a name that it kept until 2018, albeit with a two-year period in 2007-09 in which the venue was known as WaMu Theater. The venue signed a naming rights deal with streaming site Hulu in 2018, resulting in name Hulu Theater at MSG, which it kept before reverting back to The Theater at MSG in 2023. Located directly underneath the venue’s main arena, the theater can seat 5,600 guests, with each seat being less than 177 feet away from the stage, making for a more intimate musical experience. In addition to concerts, the venue hosted the NBA draft from 2001 to 2010, and it was also the yearly site for the NFL draft from 1995 to 2004, along with occasional boxing matches and musical theatre performances. This very centrally-located concert theatre can easily attract the top talent in showbiz, so it is crucial to book The Theater at MSG parking ahead of the show with ParkWhiz.
