Soldier Field
Soldier Field in Chicago has a long history as the lair of the Chicago Bears. The name Solider Field was dedicated during the 1926 Army vs Navy game as a memorial to US Soldiers who have given their lives in combat. It was renovated in 2003, despite criticism from landmark preservation groups. This renovation modernized the stadium for the twenty-first century, but it polarized fans and the public about the so-called “Spaceship on Soldier Field,” and lost Soldier Field its designation as a National Historic Landmark.
